[0001] BACKGROUND OF THE INVENTION The field of the invention is that of helmet visualization systems, used in particular in the aeronautical field. Helmet visualization systems have been used extensively for aeronautical applications for several decades. A helmet visualization system mainly comprises two subsets. The first is a helmet equipped with a visualization system projecting to the eye or the eyes of the user a collimated image superimposed on the outside. The second is a helmet posture detection system for locating in space, relative to a known marker, generally related to an aircraft, the position and orientation of the helmet. The main function of the helmet visualization system is to be able to present, in superposition on the external landscape, information said "conform", that is to say, displayed virtually in the exact direction that they would occupy in the external landscape. Thus, if the system displays a video image from a sensor and having a certain number of objects, the represented objects of this image are superimposed exactly on the real objects present in the field. By way of example, FIG. 1 represents, in a simplified way, the symbology S in the visual field CV of a helmet visual. The exterior landscape is represented in this figure by vanishing lines. The dashed rectangle represents the boundaries of the visual field of the visualization system. However, the pilot may be required to consult documentation concerning either his aircraft, the flight or the current mission. This documentation exists either in the form of paper documentation or, in recent years, in electronic form. This type of electronic equipment is known as "EFB", an acronym for "Electronic Flight Bag". The documentation can also be displayed on the main display screens located on the dashboard of the cockpit. In all cases, the user must necessarily accommodate to move from external vision to reading its documentation in paper form or in digital form. On the other hand, the information provided by the visualization system is lost. Finally, the consultation of a paper documentation requires him to release orders for a few moments.
[0002] The object of the invention is to implement new means for displaying and managing the aeronautical documentation by the helmet visualization system. This considerably simplifies the consultation of this flight documentation without significantly modifying the helmet visualization system. More specifically, the subject of the invention is a helmet visualization system comprising at least one helmet equipped with a display device and a system for detecting the posture of said helmet with respect to a known reference system, characterized in that the visualization comprises a documentary database and means for displaying and managing said documentary data according to the posture of the helmet. Advantageously, the appearance and display of said data in the display device is conditioned by an orientation of the helmet in a determined orientation range.
[0003] Advantageously, once appeared, the location of the data displayed in the display device is fixed in the known reference frame and independent of slight changes in posture of the helmet not exceeding a few degrees. Advantageously, once appearing, the data being structured in the form of pages, an entire page being presented in the display device, the change of pages to the right or to the left is effected by modifying the posture of the helmet to the left or to the right by at least several degrees. Advantageously, the display of the data in the display device is located in the center and in the upper part of the display device. The invention will be better understood and other advantages will become apparent on reading the description which follows given by way of non-limiting example and with reference to the appended figures among which: FIG. 1 represents a view of a symbology in a display system helmet according to the prior art; Figures 2, 3 and 4 show the management of the display of the data base data in a helmet display system according to the invention. A helmet visualization system according to the invention mainly comprises: an equipped helmet comprising an optoelectronic display assembly. This set can be monocular or binocular. When the helmet is worn by a user, this set gives a collimated image from a display and superimposed on the outside landscape by a combiner or optical mixer that can be independent or integrated into the visor; A helmet posture detection system making it possible to determine the position and the orientation of the helmet in the reference mark of the aircraft. There are different detection systems that are well known to those skilled in the art. Magnetic detection systems in which a receiver measures the components of a known electromagnetic field and optical detection systems comprising a transmitter and a receiver capable of determining the position and the orientation of this emitter by shape recognition. The position of the aircraft in a terrestrial reference is itself known by means of various sensors such as the aircraft's inertial unit; A document database of data relating to either the aircraft and its technical characteristics, the flight plan or the mission in progress. By way of example, this database may comprise cartographic data comprising aeronautical-specific information such as airports or aeronautical passage points, etc. An electronic assembly or an electronic calculator providing several functions detailed below. . The first function of the electronic computer is to ensure the generation of a conforming symbology superimposed on the external landscape by the optoelectronic display assembly. This symbology generally includes the basic information necessary for the piloting such as the indications of the speed, the altitude, the attitude, the horizon, etc. To ensure this function, the various sensors of the aircraft provide the calculator with the necessary information. The helmet orientation detection system gives it position and orientation information for displaying the symbology in a compliant manner, ie in a landmark independent of aircraft movements and movements. helmet. The second function of the computer and which is more particularly dedicated to the implementation of the invention is the management of the display of the data of the document base as a function of the posture of the helmet. All these electronic functions do not pose particular difficulties for the skilled person. By way of example, FIGS. 2, 3 and 4 illustrate the management of the display of the data of the document base as a function of the posture of the helmet. In these figures, the dashed rectangle represents the boundaries of the visual field of the visualization system. The arrows are representative of the posture changes of the helmet. The exterior landscape is represented in these figures by vanishing lines.
[0004] Figure 2 illustrates the appearance of the documentary database in the helmet visual field. It can only appear if the helmet has a definite orientation. This orientation is within a certain margin of a few degrees. In the case of Figure 2, the helmet is turned upwards and in the median axis of the wearer.
[0005] Clearly, the user does not turn his head to the left nor to the right but only to the top. The page P1 numbered "1" appears. Preferably, the appearance of the documentation is done gradually. In FIG. 2, the page P1 numbered "1" is totally apparent.
[0006] Preferably, the documentation is linked to the reference mark of the aircraft and therefore does not move in the event of slight head movements not exceeding a few degrees. Preferably, the documentation is organized in the form of referenced and / or numbered sheets P as seen in FIGS. 2, 3 and 4. Preferably, only one sheet is visible in the field of the helmet display. When the documentation appears or reappears, you can always display the first page or the last page viewed. The consultation of the documentation can be done as follows. The change of pages to the right or to the left 5 is effected by modifying the posture of the helmet to the left or to the right by at least several degrees. This page change is illustrated in FIG. 4, where the page P2, numbered "2", is progressively replaced by the page P1 numbered "1", the user having turned his head to the left. The pages stop scrolling when the user's head resumes its original position.
